MagicRun Weekend Day 2

September 21, 2018

I didn't run for almost 3,5 weeks because of work and a bit of the flu, but I have to run a 10K tomorrow.
So in the early morning on our second day in Disney I ran 2.8K just to get the feeling of running again.
It was rainy and a bit cold outside but it was nice to run again and now I already did a run in Disney.

We didn't had any big plans for today because of my MagicRun tomorrow.
So we decided to go to the outlet center "La Vallee Village".
We tough that we could spent a day there because in the Netherlands we can do that.
But we're not in the Netherlands and the outlet center wasn't all that great.
Glad that there was a big shopping mall at one of the exits from the outlet so we went there.
The only shop we really see was the Primark and we did shop well.

Around noon we we're back at the hotel.
We didn't plan a park day but we went anyway only for a couple of hours.
We ended up at the sport bar and because we wanted to be in the hotel early, we did a early diner at Annette's diner.

Before the trip all the runners got a mail with discounts, a Virtual GoodieBag, but RunDisney sent it out so late that some of the runners didn't see that mail. I printed some more of the discounts so if anybody was missing out that I could give them the printed discount.
At Annette's Diner I met some runners.
Like Arno from RunArnoRun and his girlfriend plus I met Michael Gabriel from Run The Small World Podcasts (When I met them I didn't know they were on the internet but now they are a big part of my running life)

After diner we had some time before the start of the 5K MagicRun.
I wanted to see them run with all the lights and costums.
So we did walk around at Disney Village and again ended up at the sport bar, that place is really a great spot to see all the runners on there way to the corrals.
And what a amazing people are the RunDisney Runners.
There outfits/costums are so amazing and great.
I had the time of my life sitting there and just watching the runners.
The race started and people we in outfits of Disney and Marvel characters the 5K MagicRun was the Marvel theme.
Most of the runners had some lights because it's a run in the evening.
I was jealous of all the 5K runners,  it was the run I wanted to do and hoped that I could book the 5K and 10K next year.
What a beautiful sight seeing all the runners in the dark.
What a amazing Disney weekend it already was, and I still had to do my own 10K tomorrow.

So back at the hotel for a early night.
Putting my simple outfit, a Snow white legging, black longsleeve, orange nike shirt, orange socks, bib, runningbelt and a small running backpack on the bed.

Time to get some sleep!

MagicRun Weekend Day 1

September 20, 2018

It's the day to drive to Disneyland Paris.
Our little Disney Vacation is starting right now.
Mom is going with me to support me at my run.

The alarm clock is going off way to early but we need to drive for a bit longer than 5 hours.
We want to be there in the morning to walk around and go to the expo.
Did see some YouTube video's about the expo in the states and that is really crowed and huge but I also saw that the expo at Disneyland Paris was diffrent than in the states it is smaller.
So I don't know what to expect.

Our hotel was a partner hotel, Hotel B&B Disneyland Paris.
We had never stayed in this hotel, so that was exciting.
When we arrived at the hotel it was super nice and big.
What a gorgeous hotel.

The start of our tip was perfect.
We had a beautiful hotel, the sun was shining, so here we go.
What are we going to do or what was the plan, park, expo, park, eating and to the park again.

First part of the plan was perfect.
Walt Disney Studio was our first stop.

Like in 2017 they had the food festival again "Le Rendez-Vous Gourmand" this year it where more country's than in 2017.
In 2017 it was only france food and that was also really good.
I knew that is was there again, so I told my mom that I wanted our trip to start with some wine and food at Disneyland Studio's.
It's just the perfect setting.
We got our wine and we had some Belgium Fries it was really good.

Our plan didn't go like we wanted it to, it was because of the expo.
I never expected the expo to be that busy.
It took a long time before we got everything we needed for my run on Saturday.
Long lines at every desk.
I got my Bib, race shirt, pre ordered pins and photo pass and for mom we got all her wrist bands to go to main street and the finishline to see me.

There was a big brown wall with all off our names, so you had to find your name on that wall, that was really great.
I couldn't find my name on the wall, but my mom did.
Moms are so great, she didn't leave the wall until I found her again.
I lost her at the wall, I saw somebody that I knew and mom was looking at the wall.
Yeps that was a funny moment.

So after the expo we did some walking and it was time to go to the NewPort Bay Club for our diner at Cape Cod.
We were so tired that we really needed to sit down and eat something.
The best restaurant for me is cape cod, it's nice you can sit, eat and relax that was just what we needed.

Mom never had a Glowtini, so after diner we went to the sports bar to get our glowtini.
Best way to end our first day at Disneyland Paris.

Training for the 10K MagicRun

Yep a 10K instead of 5K MagicRun.
I hope I can run that.

Lot of training to do.
Small, short even longer runs I needed to do now.

I needed something to not lose my focus on running.
Because it was still some months before my RunDisney race.
I didn't want to go to a real startline because really I'm not a runner and not
fast enough to do a real race.
So to keep me motivated I did some Virtual runs and that was great.
Got some cute medals and did some dog jogs also for a medal.
It was working, I was motivated and everything went well.

My first long run, on the May the 4th be with you was 9,9K and the time was 1 hour and 33 minutes.
I was again proud of myself.
After that first long run I did my training between 2K and 8K.
Somehow if you do a long run, your done running, why I don't know but it happens, that 9.9K was my long run at that time.

In July I did a full 10K Virtual run and I got a Disney Castle kind of medal for it.
It was 10.2K and the time was 1 hour and 24 minutes.

Whoop Whoop my work paid of.
This is still my PR for the 10K in a training run.

(Virtual Run Site Race The Distance )

I did some extra 10K's but never got that time again.
But I knew I could do my 10K MagicRun.

At that time I didn't know what to expect at the Disney race.
I wasn't really a member of any RunDisney groups on Facebook and if I was I didn't ask things or didn't really read stuff because I still was in that mindset of not being a runner and I was to slow.
So I was looking at the pictures of outfits.
I posted my runs on instagram and Facebook so I could see what I did.

A month before the race I had to work alot and got a bit of the flu.
So running wasn't all that good.
Worrying that was something I was good at, I might be the winner off that.
Oooo my what a mess, the stress, no running, lot of night shifts at work.
Never going to get to the finish line at Disney.
I had some Disney friends on instagram and Facebook that did some Disney races.
They told me your going to be fine, you doing great, your working hard, don't worry, it is a lot of fun and you will have fun, but I didn't believe them.
